Westnet 3G Mobile Network
Imagine being able to access your email, do Internet banking or look up vital information whilst on the move in a car or on a train? No need to log in to risky wi-fi hotspots in MacDonalds or Starbucks or to to pay extortionate hotel charges for Broadband access when traveling.
In these days when higher education is 'totally wired', an affordable 3G mobile Broadband service make all the difference. My son commutes from Fernvale to QUT Garden Point campus in Brisbane each day by bus or car and train. Westnet 3G Broadband combined with an ultralight HP netbook enables him to use the time constructively to access the QUT website to research and submit assignments whilst on the move. I use the service with a Lenovo netbook to keep in touch with customers and suppliers whilst travelling about Somerset Region when doing callouts to customer premises.
Based on the Optus 3G network, the new Westnet 3G shaped plans offer excellent value for money with an a free USB modem and an additional 2Gb data for the first month if you sign up to an eligible post paid plan before 31 May 2009.
Westnet G Broadband currently offers average speeds from 550 Kbps to 3 Mbps.
Current Westnet 3G USB modems are more suitable for laptops on the move, but can also be used with a desktop and Paul Computers can supply a router that will enable you to network the service with other computers.

Paul Computers has undertaken extensive testing of the Westnet 3G service in the Somerset Region There is good coverage in the region of Lowood, Fernvale, Esk and Toogoolawah. Kilcoy has yet to be tested, but there is a local transmitter, so there should be good coverage.
Westnet is considered to be the best ISP in Australia for customer service - I'm not saying that because I'm a Westnet agent, I chose to become a Westnet agent because they consistently come top of the list in independant consumer surveys. In combination with heir sister company. iiNet, they are the third largest ISP in Australia after Telstra and Optus. I also use them for my own ADSLÂ Broadband service.
If you would like a demonstration of Westnet 3G Broadband, please feel welcome to give me a call on 5427 0132.
