Telstra ‘Next G’ Broadband Network

Imagine being able to access your email, do Internet banking or look up vital information whilst on the move in a car or on a train? No need to log in to risky wi-fi hotspots in MacDonalds or Starbucks or to to pay extortionate hotel charges for Broadband access.

Telstra's Next G mobile wireless Broadband services has been good news for Internet users who need access to Broadband Internet on the move or who cannot access ADSL.

The new Liberty shaped plans offering 5 Gb of data for $89.95 or 10 Gb data for $129.95, with a $299 device rebate and half price for the first 12 months when combined with a fixed landline or mobile phone, will also be very attractive compared with satellite Broadband for rural customers who require more ooomph.

These prices may be higher than the competition, but Telstra is the only Wireless Internet Service Provider that can claim to offer a service to 99% of the population. Telstra Next G has more than double the coverage of any rival company and has not had any of the reliability problems that have plagued the competition.

For an independant assessment, read the recent article in APC magazine about why Next G is a better wireless Broadband option.

Next G Broadband currently offers average speeds from 550 Kbps to 3 Mbps, with plans to ramp speeds up to 20 Mbps in 2009. In addition, BigPond 3G International Roaming giving you access to 3G networks in over 30 countries, albeit at a price.

Next G Broadband is equally suitable for desktop PCs in a fixed position or laptops on the move, although a different modem is required for each. All modems cost $299, but this is covered by the device rebate on a 36 month contract, so effectively the modems are free.

There is a selection of mobile modems depending on your needs, but the excellent new Next G gateway/router is now supplied for desktop computers, making it really easy to share the Next G Broadband either with wires or wirelessly between computers within your home or business.

Next G Broadband now offers excellent coverage in the Somerset Region region and for many local users is a more cost effective option than satellite Broadband.

If you would like a free site test and demonstration of Next G Broadband at your home or business in the Somerset Region and environs, please feel welcome to give me a call on 5427 0132.
